Lead Nurse
Hours: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible / Permanent

About the Role
Kingswood Surgery is seeking an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking Lead Nurse to join and guide our dedicated nursing team. In this pivotal role, you will lead and mentor the team, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, safety, and professional development.

You will oversee infection control, cold chain processes, clinical audits, and policy implementation, while contributing to governance, quality improvement, and service innovation. This role is ideal for a dynamic nurse leader with strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement in primary care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and develop the nursing team to deliver best clinical practice.

  • Oversee infection prevention and control, cold chain management, and clinical audits.

  • Ensure policies, protocols, and governance frameworks are implemented and reviewed.

  • Contribute to clinical leadership within the practice and across the Cygnet Primary Care Network.

  • Participate in service development, clinical meetings, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

  • Deliver and support chronic disease management, immunisations, wound care, cervical screening, and health promotion programmes.

  • Support the achievement of QOF and enhanced service targets.


About Kingswood Surgery
Kingswood Surgery is a well-established, patient-centred GP practice in High Wycombe, caring for approximately 10,500 patients.

Our team includes:

  • 3 GP Partners

  • 5 Salaried GPs

  • A GP Returner and GP Trainees

  • A skilled Nursing and Pharmacy team

As part of the Cygnet Primary Care Network, we collaborate closely with local practices to enhance patient services, professional development, and staff wellbeing.


What We’re Looking For

  • NMC-registered nurse with leadership experience in primary care or urgent care.

  • Strong clinical and governance knowledge, with a proactive and motivational approach.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • Experience in chronic disease management and general practice nursing.

  • A collaborative, patient-focused team player committed to continuous improvement.
